Raymond d'Anjou
PLM Consultant – Industry SolutionsMy studies in mechanical engineering and my work as a mechanical engineer have taught me a great deal about working in companies that develop and manufacture their own products. In my second professional role, I was also introduced to (CAD and PDM) application management. I spent a lot of time identifying and implementing optimisations that made the organisation more effective. When I joined a business process mapping project, I had the chance to observe the entire organizational process firsthand and worked closely with stakeholders to identify and implement targeted improvements. Eventually, with my next employer, I also became acquainted with Teamcenter as a PLM solution, after which I started working at Emixa as a PLM Consultant in 2022.
As a PLM consultant, I work both in an advisory and technical capacity to help clients make their processes more effective. I do this independently as well as part of a team together with my colleagues. Since the beginning of 2025, I have been part of the PLM Foundation Team, which carries out implementations based on the Emixa Teamcenter Foundation—a basic configuration that immediately provides clients with a workable environment. Additionally, our team is responsible for Teamcenter upgrades. For these, we conduct assessments to map out the state of the client’s environment. We then group a few clients as possible to upgrade them to the same target version of Teamcenter using a standardised method.
During an implementation or upgrade, we encounter various interesting topics such as requirements, installation, configuration, deployment, and delivery. During assessments or pre-sales, we have plenty of contact with the client about their expectations and how we can best support them. For installation and configuration, we use our own scripts (automated scripts that speed up repetitive tasks), which are managed together with the client configuration of the system in GIT (a version control system), giving us optimal control over the installation and configuration process. For our work, we interact with many different people at a client, such as management, IT, key users, or end users. We also work in an extremely flexible (hybrid) manner—at home, at the client’s premises, and at the office in Best.
